Agonizing Constipation

constipation

I’m very sure that everyone has experiencing constipation in their life and it’s very agonizing. Studies have shown that people who have weak bladder and bowel system tends to get constipation. But, do you know what the certain habits that can contribute to constipation are?

Diet low in fibre

  • Fibre is very important for our digestive system. It helps to give something to form a stool around. When you don’t get enough fibre, stool become small, dry and hard. Therefore, you need to put more fiber in your diet such as fruits, vegetables, whole wheat bread and cereals. Even if you tried to gluten-free and casein-free diet, you should choose foods that are rich in fiber. But keep in mind also, too large amount of fiber in the food can cause bloating and gas! So, make sure to take it adequately.

Diet high in dairy

  • Large amount of cheese and other high-fat/low-fibre foods such as meat and eggs can lead to slow digestion. So, reducing the consumption of fast food and processed food may help.

Not drinking enough fluids

  • Please drink enough water daily. It’s not necessary to drink eight glasses of water a day but as long as you don’t feel thirsty. Dehydrated or less fluids in your body may prevent the stool become soft.

Inactivity

  • Being active is the easiest way to affect your digestion. It helps trigger your bowel movement and the best part is it avoids you from any other health issues!

Snacking on junk food

  • When you constantly feed on junk food, you are taking in products that are low in fibre and nutrients, and high in fat and sugar. Generally, fat tends to slow the gut down so make smart and healthy food substitutes when you are having a craving.

Holding it in

  • Not a fan of public restrooms? Feel shy going at the office’s toilet? Yes, we all prefer to go at home but ignoring the urge can have a negative effect on your digestive health. You may not feel the natural signals to go again later.
